Community Support Workers

We are always interested in the right person for Disability Workers and Aged Care Support Workers (including Domestic Assistants and Lifestyle Support Workers).

We do employ people without experience and/or qualifications, and if you can demonstrate that you are willing we can provide on the job training.

To be successful in obtaining such a role, you need to:

  1. Share our values
  2. Be committed, caring and reliable
  3. Have a current drivers’ license, insured vehicle with a roadworthy certificate and a smart phone
  4. Be willing and able to undertake the applicable Certificate III qualification
  5. Be eligible to obtain a combined  Worker Screening/Working with Children (Blue Card) clearance, National Police Check
  6. Meet mandatory requirements set by legislation
  7. Obtain a CPR and First Aid certificate.

The Family Participation Program (FPP) provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to participate in child protection decision making. The focus of the program is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with children and young people under the age of 18 years, including those who are at risk of being the subject of a child protection notification or who are already subject to intervention by the statutory child protection system. The FPP is a free and confidential service that works for a family independently of Child Safety. The FPP can support a family in their dealings with the department in decisions that affect them and their children.
